Jr. Impact 2019

Jr. Impact is an amazing weekend on the campus of Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN. It’s a highlight for many of our students. This is open for all of our current 6-8 graders. It’s a sweet mix of games, fun, encouragement, and powerful worship. This event is something that we want everyone to part of each year. Please let us know if you have any questions. The cost is $175 by May 6. The cost is $205 after May 6. If money is an issue, then please contact the church office. We don’t want this to be an obstacle for any student.

Girls Retreat

This year our 2019 Girls’ Retreat will take place on Friday April 5 and Saturday April 6. Our theme this year is following our Spring Semester theme of Living Loved. We will have some wonderful women come and pour out their hearts. This will be a fun weekend of worship, fellowship, and fun activities! You won’t want to miss!

Also, there is a comfort colors tank available that reads “Living Loved” across the front for $17 if you would like to have one!

Birmingham Iron Football Game.

On March 31, we are going to take a road trip to Birmingham to watch minor league football. We'll leave immediately after 2nd service. We'll stop for a fast food lunch and head to Legion Field for a 3:00 kickoff. This is an event open for students and parents. Feel free to share this information with other people. It's open for all!

Tickets are $25 a piece and parking is $8 per vehicle. All of the tickets are digital and Birmingham Iron is handling the money. So do not pay Landmark.

Fall Retreat: November 9-11

Fall Retreat is an amazing event in the middle of our semester.  It's a great time for everyone to take a pause from the busyness and worship our God.

This year we will be going to Camp Ascca in Jackson's Gap.  Combining the beauty of Lake Martin with the community of our students will make for one amazing retreat.  

November 9-11.  Due to school events, the retreat will start on Friday evening and end on Sunday afternoon.  Most students are out of school on Friday due to Veterans day.  We want to encourage all students to get their homework done before the retreat so they can be fully present throughout the weekend.

This is a mission trip for Montgomery. We are going to be staying in the teen room. Eating in the gym. We are going to be serving at Common Ground and Montgomery Inner City church. It's going to be a great week for our entire youth group. All grades from our new 7th graders to our graduated seniors can join with us during this week.

Halftime

Halftime

Halftime is a valuable time in the middle of our Summer. This is a time where the interns and will take a step back to rest. We are prayerful during this time. We want to continue to be driven by disciples making disciples. We are respectfully asking that we give our interns a much needed break. We don't want students texting or hanging out with the interns during this week. We are wanting the interns to charge their batteries for the second 1/2 of the summer.

 

During 1/2 time there will be no youth activities. There will be no guys/girls bible studies or game nights.

Impact Packing List/Expectations/ETC.

Packing List:  Bring a sleeping bag or sheets, pillow, personal items, towels, regular camp clothes (these must be modest.  Students will be asked to change if viewed as inappropriate), $20 for a room key deposit (refunded at checkout), personal spending money, and a Bible. You may also want to bring a tennis racket, ball glove, raquetball racket, frisbee, or a guitar. Students receive 3 meals a day from the cafeteria. Some students order late pizzas or snacks throughout the week. This is an extra cost. Students also need to bring $$ for travel days. They'll eat lunch on the way there and on the way back.

Jr. Impact:  We will leave the church parking lot at 5:30am on Friday morning.  We will have some donuts for you.  We will return around 1:00 on Monday.

Sr. Impact:  We will leave the church parking lot at 9:30am on Monday morning.  We will return Saturday around 2:00 on Monday. 

Expectations: We expect our students to draw closer to our God and grow closer together. We pray all of our students have this same attitude. In the past, Landmark has not had the best reputation. We've pulled pranks and acted up throughout the week. Poor, Disrespectful behavior will not be tolerated. Going to impact is a privilege that we do not want to lose. Any student that has to appear before the impact board because of their behavior will be sent home. Parents will be responsible for picking them up from Nashville. 

 

1 Bag and 1 Carryon: Since we have a very full bus, we have to make sure there is enough room for everyone. We need each student to bring only one suitcase and one carry on. They will also bring their sleeping bags/pillows.

 

What not to Bring: Radios, TV's, laser pointers, ipods, DVD players, Ipads, computers and other electronics are not permitted. These items can easily be lost or stolen. 



Cell Phone Policy. Students may keep their phones. However, if a student uses their phone during class, worship, or devotionals the phone will be confiscated until the end of Impact. 

Alcohol/Drug Policy: Alcohol, drugs (your counselor should be notified of any prescription drugs you are taking), fireworks, laser pointers, or any type of weapon are not allowed on campus. Any of these items will be taken by an IMPACT Staff person and held until the camper leaves at the end of IMPACT.

Homesick:  Many times Impact will be a student’s first trip away from home.  We thank you for trusting us!  Please know that your child’s safety & well being is our top priority.  If your child becomes homesick we will do our best to comfort your child.  If the homesickness becomes a distraction to other students & starts to sour their experience, the parent will be asked to come to Nashville.
